Regular Council Meeting
Wednesday, July 8, 2020

The regular meeting of the Corydon City Council was called to order by Mayor Dennis Moorman. Present were council members Holmes, Rupe, Rodgers, Bennett and Christian. Others in attendance were City Clerk Eva Moore, Jen Reed from the Times Republican, Brandon Trower and Scott Bunnell. Present on phone were Nancy Buss with Hall Engineering, and Lisa Holt.

Scott Bunnell was present to discuss cemetery complaints that the Mayor and City Hall had recently received regarding mowing and vase damages at the Corydon cemetery. It was agreed that Bunnell’s crew would try to blow grass off of stones for the three major holidays; otherwise was very hard to do. Damaged vases were an item of concern as well as some stones.

Golf Cart, ATV, UTV, Snowmobile, Mini Bike, etc. Permit

Category: News.

The council has passed an ordinance, that require Golf Carts, ATVs, UTVs, Snowmobiles, Mini Bikes, Go-Karts, and the like to have a permit sticker on them when driving on the streets/alleys.

The owner and operators of the machines must fill out a permit application and return to City Hall. (Currently it will have to be by dropbox, mail, or fill out the online form.)

Once application is turned in and approved a permit sticker will be issued. The sticker is to be affixed to the rear driver side of the machine and must be visible at all times.

The regular meeting of the Corydon City Council was called to order by Mayor Dennis Moorman. Present were council members Holmes, Rupe, Bennett and Christian. Rodgers was absent. Others in attendance were City Clerk Eva Moore, Rhonda Bennett from the Times-Republican.
Randy Sharp was present and addressed the council during open forum regarding vase damage to a headstone in the cemetery as well as junk issues with a tenant.
Christian made the motion to approve Resolution 2020-24, a resolution to change council meeting dates and times starting in new fiscal year July 2020. Holmes seconded. Ayes: Rupe, Holmes, Bennett and Christian. Nays: none.

SPECIAL CLOSED SESSION COUNCIL MEETING
Thursday, June 11, 2020

The special session council meeting of the Corydon City Council was called to order by Mayor Dennis Moorman at 5:30 p.m. Present were council members Rodgers, Rupe, Holmes, Bennett and Rodgers. Others in attendance were City Clerk Eva Moore and City Attorney Verle Norris.
The council conducted a closed session pursuant to the Iowa Open Meeting Law, Section 21.5(1)(c) to discuss strategy with council regarding matters that are presently in litigation.

The regular meeting of the Corydon City Council was called to order by Mayor Dennis Moorman. Present were council members Rodgers, Rupe, Holmes, Bennett and Christian. Others in attendance were City Clerk Eva Moore, Jen Reed from the Times-Republican, Nichole Moore from Chariton Valley Planning, and Brandon Trower from city crew. Others on phone attendance were Nancy and Bill Buss from Hall Engineering.

Nichole Moore addressed the council with information about services they provide for local cities within their Council of Governments. The city has not utilized them since 2010 and there is much they can assist with.

Council discussed selling and bidding procedures for 215 N. West St. Information is still being gathered on how to handle.

Thursday May 7, 2020

The regular meeting of the Corydon City Council was called to order by Mayor Dennis Moorman. Present were council members Rodgers, Rupe, Holmes, Bennett and Christian. Others in attendance were City Clerk Eva Moore, and Jen Reed from the Times-Republican.

Bennett made the motion to approve payment #1 for Morris Enterprises for the Water System Improvements Project 2019 in the amount of $160,668.75. Rupe seconded. Ayes-Rodgers, Rupe, Holmes, Christian and Bennett. Nays-none.

Council discussed the position of City Treasurer/Deputy Clerk. Mayor expressed his desire to get the job posted and interviews started. It was decided that an ad would be placed in the paper for a Utility Billing part-time position that could lead to full time.

Council discussed software upgrades and general office upgrades to make the office more efficient.
