Public Works Director
The City of Corydon, Iowa, is accepting applications for a Public Works Director position. Duties include, but are not limited to, operation, maintenance, and upgrades of all facets of the city water and wastewater systems; maintenance of streets and parks; and all city property. This position will supervise other public works employees as they perform these tasks and be responsible for annual project and budget planning.
The applicant must have Grade 1 Water Distribution and Grade 1 Wastewater Treatment Certifications. Experience in employee supervision is required. Other requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent; speak and write fluent English; have a valid Iowa Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with Air Brakes Endorsement; and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test as well as participate in an on-going IDOT approved drug testing program. Previous municipal maintenance experience is preferred.
This is a full-time position for 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with rotating weekend duty and mandatory emergency response duty. Compensation will be based on experience.
