Old Settlers
One of the first recorded meeting of Corydon Old Settlers was held on August 20, 1887. For an individual to be classified as an “Old Settler” at this event, the person had to be a resident of Wayne County for twenty years. There were 253 people present who signed the book on that date declaring that they were Old Settlers. A public collection was taken up to pay the expenses of $3.78 and a contribution of $2.25 was presented by Lewis Miles.
The Old Settlers' celebration usually takes place the 3rd week in August.
