Brush Pick Up December 22, 2021

The City will have brush pick up next Wednesday December 22nd. Please call City Hall at 872-1826 to be added to the pick-up list.

Please follow the following guidelines for pick up:

Large branches must be cut to 4-foot lengths or less with cut ends toward the street
Piles of brush must be near the curb

If you have larger pieces of trees or brush, please take them to the City Brush Dump which is open 24/7 at this time. The brush dump is for tree and yard waste only.

SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
Wednesday, April 07, 2021 5:30 P.M.

1. Call to Order/Roll Call
Meeting was called to order at 5:30pm. Present: Mayor Bennett; Council persons Christian, Holmes, Rodgers, Rupe.

2. Open Forum
Randy Sharp was present to discuss an issue with cars speeding in town. He expressed concerns about the City not having its own police force. Holmes explained that it is very difficult to find the funds to hire a city police officer and hire them at a competitive wage.
Rodgers suggested the Council review the current 28E agreement. Rodgers also recommended amending the City Council assignments to add “Law Enforcement” to the Fire Department Committee.

City Brush Dump and Brush Pick Up

The City brush dump is located at the west end of First Avenue (south of the Wayne County Fairgrounds).

Brush pick-up is the 3rd Thursday of the month now through November.  Pick up can be arranged by contacted City Hall at 872-1826 to be put on the pickup list.  A small pile of brash or bags of leaves is $5 and a large pile is $10.  The charge will be applied to the resident’s next water bill.

Large branches must be cut to  4-foot lengths or less with cut ends toward the street.  Piles of brush must be near the curb.  The city workers will not go up a driveway or into yards to get the piles.  Leaves and grass clippings must be in bags.

2021 Golf Cart/ATV Registration

It is still free to register!

If you have not yet registered your golf carts, ATV’s, UTV’s, go-karts, snowmobiles and mini-bikes with the City of Corydon, permit applications are still available on the cityofcorydoniowa.com website or at City Hall. Please complete the form and return to City Hall in the mail or drop box. City Hall will then mail you a sticker to put on your machine. 2020 Pink Stickers are now expired. New 2021 stickers will be yellow.  All machines must be registered with the City to avoid violations.

Please remember that All operators MUST be 18 years of age  or older with a valid driver’s license.

Meeting called to order at 5:30 pm. Present was Mayor Bennett, Councilpersons Holmes, Rodgers, and Rupe. Councilperson Christian attended via phone.

2. Open Forum
Roger Winslow and Mark Winslow representing Corydon Housing LLC were present and provided a summary document of their housing project and requests of the City. On advisement from City Attorney Norris, the City will need a subdivision plat map submitted for approval which would go before the Board of Adjustment and Zoning Commission. The City expressed support for the project. Winslow said that the Corydon Housing group plans to have a future meeting to explain the project in further detail for potential partners.
